as has been said try and get one that's been restored it will save a lot of grief

and try looking for a 16v conversion they are sooo much fun

dont even think about a mk3  a good mk1 16v will leave you with a contented warm glow and a cheshire cat smile every time you drive it

no mate not like the one you get when your in a retro ride like a well sorted mk1  :smug:

everyone knows skylines are quick, they are one of the few cars that give bikers a hard time

but there is nothing like leaving a modern car behind or giving them a hard time in a 20yo motor

and you never get 'you look like a knob' looks or comments

only admiring glances and jellous looks and f*CK ME that goes comments

above all you can be safe in the knowledge the car your driving spawned a whole genre of motors  :nerd:

engine...maybe...but then it depends on mileage, how its been treated etc..
whats stopping you from putting a dif engine in the 1.1 if the bodywork is solid?

i'm not being a snob just stating a fact that a posting i read a fella had a problem re-registering a 1.1 or 1.3 as a gti even though he had fitted all gti parts

dont mean to come across as mark snobby just love the the mk1

i did own a 89 16v mk2  and have driven mk3s n 4s but none of them feel 'right'

put it this way when i pull up beside an aston or porka or anything i feel just as cool as as they think they feel if not cooler cos is an old fart

come on dinx you must have had that same feeling?
