I just tried to invoke this launch control process, I cannot get the revs past 3000.  Even to get it there is a struggle.

Would be interested to find out if this is a vag com programming issue or is there something wrong with my car. Its a MY06(55) DSG.  If so, does anyone know the VAG com settings, I need quick answers as my warranty runs out on Thursday!! if there is anything wrong I need to get it fixed asap.

Car is booked into dealers on Wednesday to get some kind of evap solenoid replaced that was apparently intermittently firing....wonder if its linked to this lack of revs on launch control initiation....(ok be gentle, i am completely non technical).

That sonds fine to me, the problem i'm having is i can't get mine to build up any revs.

3200 rpm? guess the problem i am having is that my revs dont get that far up...is this just the natural variation in the metering or something.

Will try it again, but with my right foot all teh way down and my left firmly on the brake pedal, the revs wont go past 3000 rpm.

Going out to play in a wee while, after the footy...will report back asap...dont want to do this too many times just got those asymmetrics fitted!

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

Theres nothing wrong with your car 3200 is to many rev's IMO the couple of times i tried it there was still a slight pause before take-offfffff so by the time your foot is off the brake and you floor it + the slight pause my revs were climbing rapidly. Fast launch but still wheel spin. It's all about tecnique V-tec abuser is the man to ask about this that's if he will share his secret's Hurdy may be pretty good at it but we wil never know  though it wont be for the lack of trying.

Strangly I agree with TC again

The few times I have tried it have found 3000rpm is too much, and a start around 2000-2250 seams to give better results as you aren't sat there spin the wheels.

for optimium excelleration, hold revs at approx 2200rpm, upshift to 2nd gear early to get to 60 faster then if you let 1st gear rev to

redline.Gives a better 0-60 ......... try it you might like it   .

on your private runway of course

OK guys I have tried several times to "launch"...sometimes I get the revs up however I do actually think I have a fault....sometimes I stick the loud pedal to the metal and the revs don't move at all, they sit at idle around 1500 :(

perhaps this is to do with this evap solenoid intermittant fault I am booked in for on Wednesday.

btw Footy was grreeat 4-2 to the bears! :)

1500 revs means that LC isn't engaged and you have to drop back into D turn on and then off the ESP and drop back into sport mode.

Spoke to my local dealer today to see if every dsg gti should have the launch control feature and whether it could be activated through vag-com, they basically could'nt answer my question and referred me to vw uk who still did not answer my question, they did not know if it was an integral part of the dsg box or if it was an optional feature or whether it could be activated or de-activated.Thought i just let you all know.If anyone has any ideas i would be gratefull.
