T_T - You wanted to know the steel spare I have on board which came with my 17's - # 1K0601027B. Thanks, you provided the excuse I needed to tidy up my boot!

Huh - that is the same part no as the 18" space saver!  So is yours a 17" or 18" pram wheel?  :undecided:

....I've no idea. Perhaps VW don't supply different size pram steelies as spares. You may have to wait a while for me to bother to access it again - Apart from essential tools etc I carry a ground sheet, blanket, sleeping bag and roll-up fouton, spare oil, washer fliud, etc etc in my boot.

....My VW dealer has one of those Beisbarth laser rigs and I do all 4 wheels when tyres are changed - Keeps it all tip-top.

Do they give you the "before" and "after" printouts?  Would be interested to see just how much adjustment is needed - if any!

....Yes - 'Before' and 'after' printouts.

Well what size is the tyre?  It will either be T125/70 R18, T125/70 R17, or T125/70 R16

Perhaps VW don't supply different size pram steelies as spares.

They do.  The standard bottom of the range poverty spec Golfs have a 16" space saver.  The GTIs with factory fit 18" Monza IIs get an 18" space saver.  But I don't know about the GT, or the GTI with the standard 17" alloys?  :undecided:

Like to keep that blow up dolly in comfort then?

.... Why did I think you'd be asking for them when I was writing my response!? I don't have a scanner so I'd have to find it, set it up, photograph it, upload it onto my Mac, Photoshop any confidential info, upload it to photobucket, and then post it - Not what I was planning to do this evening sorry.

Later.........

Wooo Hooo....all fitted....I am well pleased.  Acceleration, cornering, braking and steering all feels different! much more confidence in the car now...just for a change I actually want it to rain in Glasgow....but would you adam and eve it, its a dry day for once....no worries though it will be torrential soon...never stays dry for long up here.

On that subject, I noted some water actually in my old tyres! the fitters were equally baffled  :undecided:  Anyway they are off to the landfill now

No additional charges, can only say that my Black Circles experience was superb! Think I will ask local VW garage how much for 4 wheel alignment next week, i did notice some uneven wear at the front.  Either that or get my tracking checked.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

Hey all, I was on tyresmoke today, there was a thread from Originally Posted by Cleybrooke slating the asymmetrics. He had an e number on the side wall of his tyres, mine, like his is E13.

Anyways, I was just wondering what numbers each of you guys had on your Eagle f1 asymmetrics?

...thanks to the OP on Tyresmoke,....."OK - done some research here.. It appears that there have been some F1's that came from china and where iffy. These did not have the e in a circle on them. The complete list is below.
