....The DV is known to be a weak link because of its design and materials used. Relocating it may help but still isn't a guarantee. If your car is remapped and therefore has higher boost levels I would definitely buy a Forge DV simply as a precaution, plus it's supposed to hold boost for longer anyway. Forge guarantee their products long term.

Pridders - It's not turbo whine stylee whooshing, but the owl farting has decreased and it's as if there is quiet 1 second whoosh when the actual gear is changing rather than when the car is accelerating under boost.  I presume this is the valve going but there is currently no loss of power, but it seems a good time to get the Forge fitted anyway

I've got a friend who's had a remap, the forge DV and twintercooler fitted all at once.  This resulted in ECU problems and big loss of power, so the forge was replaced with the original OEM valve and everything went back to normal

Has anyone heard of the Forge DV creating any problems with remapped cars, or does the car have to be reflashed after the forge is installed?

It's probably just a case of the muppets installing the parts getting it wrong......

If no-one's had any problems with their Forge at all and this example above was an installation issue, I'll probably just buy his for 70GBP - far quicker than buying from the UK or US, and I'm getting quotes of 250GBP from a local 'supplier' who hasn't got it in stock anyway...

I've had a Forge Valve before and whilst I normally highly rate their products on this occasion I don't think it is the best solution.

....I had my Forge DV installed some time after my Revo remap and have had no problems.

This was the series of events for my friend:

forge DV and intercooler fitted > ECU went into limp mode > forge DV taken out and stock valve replaced, intercooler seals replaced > ECU still in limp mode > Superchip ECU upgrade installed > everything ok

Is this DV worth getting 'second hand' after being fitted for 24 hours....???

I don't know why the car went into limp mode but most problems occuring after the DV has been fitting are usually down to incorrect fittment.

....Which is exactly why I paid a professional (JKM Portsmouth) to fit mine. It can be tricky to fit - It IS tricky to fit for a non-mechanic type such as myself!

Me too.

Everyone I've spoken to rates the Forge DV highly. It certainly isn't fit and forget which some people think it is, but with regular service like any other part of your car it is a good piece of kit and not prone to failure like the OEM part.
