might be worth trying the screwdriver through the caliper into the disc bodge

hub nuts are done up to roughly 1 meeelion torques, so make sure its a bloody big screwdriver!  also this could bugger the threads in the hubs.

what threads in the hub? where the caliper carrier bolts on? i can see the screwdriver/disc getting a bit f**ked though, thats why you borrow one from the breakers :grin:

a breaker bar combined with scaffold pole makes short work of the hub nuts :wink:

no where the wheel bolts to the hub, remember there are threads in the brake disc holes ;)
yeah I'm not saying you can't get them undone with enough leverage, but just imagine all that force being transfered to a screwdriver, if that was to suddenly snap you could injure yourself, plus its also gonna be applied to the threads in the hubs I cant imagine all that force will do em any good.

yeah with the wheel off, you know the big holes in the brake disc you wanna shove a screwdriver thru, thats where the wheel bolts thread into :grin:

edit: if you could get a mate to stand on the brakes that would be a better way to do it, but even then you may struggle.

i have done it like that before at a breakers with the car hanging from a crane getting some passat driveshafts off :laugh:

the screwdriver will have the stress along the length of it if its inside the disc brakes vents, not in one point like through the wheel nut hole so should be ok aslong as it isnt a cheap sh!tty one
