If anyone is interested, here are some links to a German ebay shop selling GTi front and rear badges in gloss black. I have seen some Japanese GTi's with matt black badges as well which would also be worth looking into but haven't found any on ebay yet.

....Gloss black would match the stock glossy black nosepiece very well  - Look better than matt black imo.

gloss black would look good on any car except a black one (imo)

....And you've got the carbonfibre nosepiece anyway.

oh yea

Soo....forgive me for going slightly off the topic of the GB for the CF badges...but that German dude on  ebay..does the 42.90Eu front black badge just use the same clips as the OEM chrome one? Do they simply just pop off and you pop the new one in place?

I was surprised to see that the rear one is much cheaper, is the German ebay dudes rear badge just a stick on over the original boot handle or does it replace the existing I wonder?

I notice you pay a 7EU premium for the GTI/R32 version...guess that gets you the different sized one that RR was alerting us to.

I think the black looks cool, I'm seriously considering the front one now. Although wondering if a simple paint jobby might also do the trick just as well....

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

....I'm sure that the badges are replacements and not stick-ons. I've heard it's tricky to remove them but there's a 'How To' - I'm trying to access it for posting.

It looks like the front one includes the chrome top and core and the rear is just the raised chrome piece, that why i think there is a big difference in price.

They are pretty easy to paint, I have just done mine, sanded them down then two coats plastic primer, a few coats of matte black and then two layers of clear coat.

The front is easy to get the whole badge off (either unclip from the back and twist, or if your feeling brave just twist anti-clockwise) but it's a bit of a delicate operation to slow prise off the chrome piece.

The rear can be removed by working a plastic card or similar between the chrome piece and lock mech and then start to unclip it all the way around.

Hello

My name is Charles and i am the owner of Carbon Dynamics located in Arizona USA.
I found out about this Forum a few days ago and i am looking forward to working with the TTshop to get this
group buy organized so you all will have the front and rear emblems on your MKV that you have been waiting for.
The front and rear VW emblems on the MKV are the most popular products we sell.
Please wait a few days before you paint your emblems.
I will do my best to get these to you in a timely fashion and a good value.
I want you all to see the quality of our carbon fiber products.
I believe the intrest in our products from the UK was from a customer buying the MKV emblems from one of our USA dealers.
In the last month we have had a lot of hits on our website from the UK and tons of emails.
I am glad to see the intrest in our products from Europe.I have been wanting to push our products toward the euro market and with
the TTshop this is possible. We have sold many products to Europe in the past Nine years. But not to the extent i have wanted.
I will do my best to help you and keep in contact daily with you and the TTshop to make this as smooth as possible.
Many of you may have not heard of Carbon Dynamics but we have been doing Porsche and VW
Carbon Fiber products for nine years and as our website states we do not cut corners.
We have been in Excellence magazine and luxury and exotics for our porsche line of products and in Performance VW and euro tuner a few times for VW's.
Now on to the business at hand!
The front emblem can be purchased from VW for $35 USA.The problem with the rear emblem is VW sells the whole mechanism for $175 USA.
I wish they sold just the rear emblem but they dont.I can get the Jetta Rear emblem for $20 US.If you have a Jetta or know someone with one we can do the emblems
for the Jetta. What people do in the USA is they take off the rear emblem and send it to us to get the carbon work done.A few have bought the whole mecanism for $175 USA.
You can take off your rear emblem to get the work done.
I wish there was another way but there is not.
Also we are working Exclusively with the TTshop this makes it much eaiser for you and us at Carbon Dynamics.
The TTshop will also have a nice selection of parts in stock so you can get a look at the quality of our products in person.
Many have asked how to take off the rear emblem and it is not very hard.

Using a Credit card or a flat plastic card slip the card into the gap between the logo and the hatch release(where the arrows are pointing) and work it around untill it comes free.
The emblem is held on buy a series of small clips. Also below the emblem is a round plastic disk that is doubleside taped on.
Some people slide the plastic card below the emblem and the doublesided tape piece comes off with the emblem.
This is ok also so dont worry if yours comes off with the black disk.
I have inclosed a picture(not mine found it on the Net) of where you slide the plastic card to remove the rear emblem.

Thank you for your time and we will get this group going in the right direction.
My goal is to make you happy and enjoy our products on your MKV.
I will do everything in my power to get these products to you.
I own a MKV GTI and of course have these emblems on my car and they look amazing!

Also here is a couple of pics of some Porsche Products we offer

Hi Charles,

I'm the guy who introduced TTshop to you. I'm also the UK customer who bought your badges via oempl.us - I bought the very last rear badge!

Justin has just emailed me with the latest prices which, between you, you are able to offer as viable.

Regarding the quality of your badges, I have both front and rear ones on my car and have had for a while - Some people here will have seen them in the UK and can also vouch for their high quality.

TTshop's Justin writes : -

"If we can get 20 fronts and 20 backs confirmed we can do the actual badge for:
£58.00 for each badge (front/rear) however these cannot be done without the core.
The front core to buy is £29.00

If we could get 20 rear cores from customers, Carbon dynamics could get the badges done within a week/week and a half and supply a how to remove the core guide which he said is straight forward. So we would need people to commit with deposits and then once there is 20 we can get them to send their cores in.
Alternatively they can buy a new rear core as previously discussed.

The £58 a badge price is only if we get 40 done at once.

The costings are delivered to the customers door, however there will be a shipping charge for anyone sending cores to the States by us, this charge is dependant on the total being sent."

So, we better start what will hopefully be a final list.

[I'm out most of this morning - I've got some driving to do ]

Here are a few pictures.
Also one of the pictures is from a GTI in the UK.
We also make the grills and full interior trim pieces for the MKV these are Not a glue on or tape on piece.
These pieces look and fit perfect just like factory.
No gluing or worring about the pieces falling off.
