....4-pot (Sorry, forgot to say). 6-pot considered overkill on the Golf weight of car. VW Racing also independently advised that AP's 4-pots were absolutely fine even for track use. Cheaper on brake pads too!

Quick question, RR

Is the colour coat of the AP caliper more resiliant to heat + brake dust?  My stock front calipers are looking very tired after a few track days....

....I haven't tracked mine but a good friend has tracked his with the same AP's and not had any issues. Another factor is the fact that AP's BBK uses a different pad (Ferodo DS2500) and also a disc with grooves. The AP calipers being a closer fit are tricky to access for cleaning unless you either roll the car or remove the wheel.

I haven't had time to contact AP yet but will add this question later today and report when I know.

....I best reword that to: "AP Racing's 6-pot considered overkill on the Golf weight of car."

Mind you, I don't carry half-a-ton of sound gear permanently installed in my boot!

I'm still trying to find a guide to remove the front and rear bells/disks, anyone know where to find one? Tried search but no joy?

have you tried the Haynes manuals for the Golf/GTI? Reasonably priced as well.

Good Point Bobo, thanks. I'll order one now as there's a few other things I need to do while I'm at it.

I'll try and find an electronic version and post it up somewhere for us to all use (cough) if its legal...!

Be aware that whichever size Monza you have, the steel spare wheel will not fit over the AP's.

If you have the factory fitted 18" Monza IIs, then you also get an 18" ET-matched spare - so it should fit.  :nerd:
