IMO not necessary unless you are remapped and have the race fuel map installed as you can get 99 RON petrol at the pump.

A car show (I think 5th Gear, but may be mistaken) actually did a test on these a couple years ago and found that they actually decrease the performance and power output of the car!

not at the moment, its £2.50 a litre
when i went to buy some when i was going to 1/4 mile day they couldn't operate the pump. You have to get a code to dispense the fuel of the cashier.

If your wanting a nice wee power boost, get your car mapped to run on 10% methanol. Or go nuts and stick some toluene in there instead. It's the stuff the 1200 bhp turbo F1 cars used to run.

I tend to use Millers Octane Plus when doing track days (in case I can't get V Power locally)
Not tried the Millers CVL Turbo stuff yet tho...

I was advised by Awesome to get some if i ran into trouble getting hold of 98 or 99 Ron fuel! So if I couldn't find a garage with the good stuff I could fill up on the sh!te and top it up with the octane booster! Hope this helps!
