Octane Booster

Anyone use any octane booster ? If so what products ?

IMO not necessary unless you are remapped and have the race fuel map installed as you can get 99 RON petrol at the pump.
Without traction power is nothing!

A car show (I think 5th Gear, but may be mistaken) actually did a test on these a couple years ago and found that they actually decrease the performance and power output of the car!

A mag did a check with them too and found zero gains.
use BP102 for more go.

Im always worried that that BP 102 stuff will blow up my engine or something!! Have any of you used it before??

not at the moment, its £2.50 a litre :laugh: when i went to buy some when i was going to 1/4 mile day they couldn't operate the pump.You have to get a code to dispense the fuel of the cashier.

If your wanting a nice wee power boost, get your car mapped to run on 10% methanol.  Or go nuts and stick some toluene in there instead.  It's the stuff the 1200 bhp turbo F1 cars used to run.

I tend to use Millers Octane Plus when doing track days (in case I can't get V Power locally)

Not tried the Millers CVL Turbo stuff yet tho...

I was advised by Awesome to get some if i ran into trouble getting hold of 98 or 99 Ron fuel! So if I couldn't find a garage with the good stuff I could fill up on the sh!te and top it up with the octane booster! Hope this helps!
