Date 4/7/2010
Cost of parts from VW. with the VAT added already at 17.5%
Bolt N90206103 (x6) = £15.93
Screw N10101001 (x6) = £2.61
G60 flywheel 028105269BX = £120.65 +£35.25 surcharge
VR6 Cluck kit = £105.63. from www.vwspares.co.uk. Thats all in with postage and VAT.
TOTAL = £280.07

Also i have weighed the 2 cluchs and have found that the old dule mass system that came out the golf was lighter than the single mass which was a little saprise.
I got the old dule mass to weigh in at 14.6KG and the single mass to be 16KG.

Has anybody used a complete conversion kit from eurocarparts?

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_1.8_1999/p/Car-Parts/Transmission/Clutch-and-Associated-Parts/Solid-Flywheel-Conversions/?641780171&1&6a65edd780e22a93e84f84121152ddf60542af2e&SCON

is this pretty much the same conversion, total price £163.33,  any problems with this kit?

My clutch is just starting to slip, so will need to do this over next few weeks

Thanks
Wilson

Havent seen this before mate but a good find. Not to shore on the make mind you, but for a saveing of £98.20 i might well be worth it.
I havne seen a tred and tested meathod of this kit so you migh be the first but go for it and see how you find it.
Is you car standerd? As the cluch itself might only be good for 150bhp. maybe ask in shop and see what thay say :)

Yes completely standard, with no intentions of any power upgrades in the near future,  I'd like to find somebody who has tried, but if not by the time it comes to buying a may well go for it!

i thought about this kit, just remember that the lightened flywheel means u need to change gear quite quickly as the rev's of the engine drop quicker, i opted for the g60 flywheel as it means u can still drive the car comfortably and not have to rush a gear change.  the info i've just shared was gained from trawling through many threads on the subject and weighing up the options. my vr6 + G60 upgrade is happening on saturday, so i'll let u know how i get on :)
