....It's not guaranteed that anyone will have problems with the stock DV, whether the car is remapped or not. But VW have already revised it three times which should tell us something because even some standard cars have failed. It's an Achilles Heal or weak link but you might never have a problem with the stock DV - It's 50-50.

I deffinately think you are more likely to get problems with the regular GTi's DV with it being in the 'hotzone' bolted directly to the turbo, and with the valve being made mainly of plastic and rubber things were never perfect. I had issues on my first GTi after 1000miles of remap action :sad:

I've modded my K03 mounted DV to the front mounted DV location using the OEM ED30/S3 parts.  Seems to be working ok on the stock DV, also being at the front it is much more accessible for checking.
