i find it surprising that people like the R32 set up, as my old car had them on and they were worse than the standard on my Golf, i guess i would need to try them to see what the fuss is about

Could be down to tyres!  Remember, the brakes ONLY stop the wheel from rotating.  It is the grip between tyre and tarmac which provides the negative acceleration when referring to brakes!  :nerd:

£600 for an R32 brake upgrade is a really good deal. Welcome to the rare world of people with uprated brakes

Uprating breaks is very expensive. Take Oettinger Stage 2 tuning, it is cheaper then fitting Porsche System 322mm front breaks.
