Out with the old...In with the new

Got a really good price for some r32 brakes so of course i took it. £600 inc painting caliper red and fitting (dealer wanted £900+), only to find out that the £600 included painting and fitting of front and rear brakes. So very pleased  :laugh:

Stock front GTI:



R32 fronts:



R32 rears:



Braking is much better, much less fading. However, i find the standard brakes provided better 'feel.' I could modulate the brake force easier than the new set up.

Very jealous mate... The difference in the size is silly really, especially the caliper..  :shocked:

Looking Nice Kev. Did you get both the front and rear ones replaced? I'm not far from Durham. Where did you get the brakes from?Is the deal still on?

£600 for an R32 brake upgrade is a really good deal. Welcome to the rare world of people with uprated brakes

How did you fit the rears?  With the R32 having four wheel drive (different hubs) surely the rears don't bolt straight on?

get yourself an r32 master cylinder, if you haven't already.

i find it surprising that people like the R32 set up, as my old car had them on and they were worse than the standard on my Golf, i guess i would need to try them to see what the fuss is about
