I feel I want to, but my tight wallet (and the missis) keep flinching at £60k for an Import. I must say it does float my boat totally though

It would definitely cheer me up, but then so would a shag...and that's a lot cheaper

edit - you'll have to cut and paste the entire link to get the pic :embarassed:

....Two reasons not to buy the Scirocco just yet : -

1 - Never buy a new car until after its first year. Time to sort out any problems.

2 - The 2.0 Turbo version won't be available yet. Not worth it with a smaller power unit imo.

Fair point on point 1.... 2.0 TFSI is the sole engine variant available in the UK at launch though

The thing that confuses me is that on all literature/website material VW quote the Scirocco launch engine as a 2.0 TSI - surely this should suggest it is one of the "twin-charger" engines (i.e. the engine in the Golf is the 1.4 TSI, whereas our engines are TFSI). But when looking at the engine data, it shows that this TSI engine is exact to ours...

I think this is where some confusion originates from.

As I've said before on here, I saw a rocco in the flesh last year at the Tiguan launch in Andalucia and was soooo relieved as I didn't want one

It just looked really bland (in white) and didn't set the pulse racing at all................. The wheels were the multi blade propellor type which probably didn't help as wheels make/break a car IMO. As Robin and I have also mentioned there is definatley a whiff of peugeot/Renault around the rear 1/4-flanks, and it also reminded me of a Puma I used to own/love.

I hope the car grows on me as I see more in the flesh as I applaud VW for building it, and Im certainly looking forward to a drive to check out this trick suspension. Will hopefully have a car by the end of September to try so I'll let you all know

....Ah! An opportunity to do some negotiations with her - The magic word Milltek comes to mind!

When I was married (before the divorce caused by car modding), my ex had a Fiat Panda - Surprisingly quick car due to being so light, once you'd got speed going. Really enjoyed that Panda.
