Scirocco or Edition 30
« on: 29 July 2008, 23:56 »
Hey guys

Looking at changing our 4 yr old A4 Avant diesel for something a bit newer and sportier. Dearly miss my Edition 30 :cry:

Can't find any Candy White Edition 30s that match or better the spec I had previously...and an alternative choice is the new Scirocco

Current thinking is this:

    * Scirocco 2.0T 200 PS
    * Candy White with Truffle leather / Rising Blue with Black leather
    * DSG
    * DVD navigation with Dynaudio
    * Bi-xenons
    * Parking sensors
    * Cruise control
    * Winter pack for bi-xenon/leather

Extra power of the Edition 30 would have been nice, but the supposedly better handling of the Scirocco is also a plus

Should I hang on for a good spec Edition 30, or take the plunge with the Scirocco

I would go with the Ed30, even if I had the choice again now. Even though i've never driven the new Scirocco. Mainly just because i'm still not 100% on the looks of the thing to be honest. This may change, but for now I would say go back to your routes mate..  :grin:

depends on whether you need the extra practicality of the Ed30? If you don't then get the Scirocco, but if you like to lug stuff around or like to give your mates a lift around then the Ed30. I got a 5 door GTI because it was the best all round car. The Scirocco looks briiliant and by all reports handles better. What a choice, keep us informed of what you are getting and if you are getting a Scirocco let us know what it's like!

I personally wouldn't touch a brand new model until all the inevitable teething problems and niggles have been resolved.

So ED 30 then.

The new Scirocco is really growing on me and in Blue looks fantastic.....from any angle except the rear :lipsrsealed:

I'd still be going towards one in the showroom and then vere off and get the Pirelli at the last second :laugh:

I have to say... The scirocco would be my car. I love the looks. The styling etc...

Reviews say it is just as good as a GTi. I think they going to make a lot of money on that car.

Regarding money, will Scirocco's hold their value like a GTI does?
