I have some 19" alloys coming for my gti-mk5 this weekend, i will be using 235 x 35 tyres and the wheels are a 45mm offset and a 8" wide.
Question will the alloys fit ok with the H&R springs which drop it by 30/35mm
or shall i stick with the eibach sportline kit which drops it 20/25mm?

you should be ok if you tuck the liners behind the tabs on the front, think neg has H&R springs with 19's but his are ET51, so maybe that 6mm might make difference?

I would be very careful. A wheel with a ET45 and 8" wide will be 12mm further out, plus the extra tyre width will take it to at least 17mm. This may even be Greater depending on your tyre choice. Even on a standard OEM set up IMO you'll get rubbing, More so when you press on a bit going around corners with the tyre wall flex.

I was told by TYREMEN of Hull that they were not prepared to sell me ET45 / 8" wheels because of this.

Mine are ET45 and 18x8.5 inches wide. Mine is very low and I have never had rubbing. They'll be fine.

READ THIS TREAD... Dave had 19" x 8" ET45 wheels with 235/35/19 tyres on this standard R32.

You should just be ok,

H&R are a tad lower than sportlines, but then abit harder, had both springs but always had 19'' with ET50.

So at the moment the answer is Yes and No?

Some people find they fit while others find they don't

I suppose i will have to just trust the guys i bought them from.

Thanks for all the replies, wether it has helped...not sure but at least i have some warning on what can happen.
