After wrecking a wheel I now need two refurbs but i'm wondering what the wheels would look like if the didnt have the painted grey parts in the circles.

Has anybody done this, any pics please??

Don't be so harsh on us 17" boys, they are nowhere near as nice as the monza II's but as it's a company car it has to stay stock- ahem.

I'm going to be refurbing and powder coating all my Monza 18's soon. They have the White Worm which is a surface corrosion under the lacquer. It's a well known issue but I can't get them replaced under warranty because my 18's came from a friend's an import GTI (he wanted 19's straight away on delivery).

I don't want this problem again so I'm going to get them all matching the Ed30 'dark silver' colour. It will have to be all one colour.

....And why would ya change a lovely and classic BBS CH alloy on an Ed30 for what you've got?

But each to their own I suppose

you say tomato I say tomahto (doesn't quite work written down  )

Anyway, why would you - easy, £55 + vat per wheel to be re-diamond cut and they cant promise they will match the others so you ideally need at least 2 doing, when on the other hand you can get them stripped and painted for 30notes and then they wont white worm after 6months anyway...

When I sell mine I will put my Monza II's back on and will be getting them 'normally' painted silver or some standard-ish colour (maybe dark grey even).

Like with the 25th Anniversary - its only a matter of time before VW replace that many they will start replacing with refurbished 'painted' Monza II's ....

Now who was looking for a picture to explain what white worm was ....
