....I started with 17's and later changed to 18's. I found no significant difference in the ride except slightly better feedback with the 18's when 'making progress' in the twisties. They are no easier not to kerb than each other. The 18's look better on the car but the white worm is horrendous if you get it (thanks to UK Winter road salts).

I get some nice comments of how i've managed to keep them looking so good on a 55 plate car  :evil:
If only they knew there are less than a month old  :tongue:

Them reps are so much cheaper  :shocked:

Found a pair for R2000 (thats two wheels) and if you buy from VW its R6500 for one!!

Max, how do you find the reps?  and if you dont mind me asking what did you pay for them?

Reps are top quality. Even the dealers thought they were OEM when the gazed upon them. Its only when you look at the technical specs that you realise they are reps (offset). I've seen the originals at my local VW dealership and to be honest they pretty much look the same. The only difference being the the originals are slightly darker from the inside (the grey bit) but you really have to look at both in detail before you realise that.

Ride wise it is alittle buympy'er (going from 17" to 18") means a lower profile tyre so its expected.

They are £240 + £25 P&P at Rochford Tyres.

Bargain if you ask me. Work out cheaper than getting them refurfed.

When its new rubber time I think its going to be upgrade to 18''s time ! At that price I think the reps are going to be the way forward.
