Broken Compressor
« on: 21 May 2008, 13:48 »
Does anyone know if an AC compressor from a mk4 1.8T will be a direct swap for the broken one on my 4mo?    (AUM Engine code)

Stealers are telling me I need a 4mo specific one........or did they see me comming?

Thanks

The part number should be along the lines of 1J0820803L which was also fitted to four cylinder engines IE a 1.8t
To much going on to list all the work

Upto chassis 1J Y 300000 the compressor fitted should be made by Sandem (SD 7 V16).
Part number listed - 1J0 820 805. This is also fitted to the 4 cylinder engines, but 4 cylinder engines also have a option of a zexel compressor which will not fit V6.

Chassis 1J Y 300001 onwards has the Sandem ( SD 7 V16 ) but has part number 1J0 820 803 K, this is also fitted to the 4 cylinder cars.

Hope this helps? basically as long as it is made by sandem and has the same connector it should fit?.

Jochen.

If you can pull the sticker off the old one, the model number will be on there. Then try looking on ebay, I just got one for my TDI for £39.99! Works, too!
