Lowering Springs or Lowering Kit?
« on: 15 May 2008, 20:26 »
I have just got my 18's on and next up is lowering

What have you guys got on your Mk4's? Lowering Springs or Full kits?

Really not sure which is the best option!

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Depends what you want out of the car TBH ?
Some companys say you can use springs with standard shocks but thay will wear quicker.
Best bet is to get springs and shocks or Coilovers which are the ultimate but qiute hash ride.

Shocks and springs are ideal if you want a mix of ride quality and good handling - Eibach FTW :afro:

Ive just lowered my car the bodging way costs nothing and i can get an idea of how low i can go with my car till it starts catching anywhere. I cut a coil off the rear springs and a coil and a half on the front, already had people saying my car looks wicked lower! I would not suggest its a permenant fixture coz the springs are very loose when car is jacked up. but it still looks the dogs

Not a goods idea at all  That could cause you to crash as the spring is so loose and you would have no insurance because of a dangerous mod

Look for PW Motorsport on Ebay - they have good prices on the springs; not sure about the dampers though.

i have also heard that there are a few supply issues with Eibach and most places are waiting for new stock
