All digi ECU's compatible?

So i have a project car that refuses to start, and a daily which (ignition wise) is 100%.

Project is an early 89 Digi with the earlier wiring (hazard switch on dash)
Daily in a late 90 digi with later wiring (hazard switch on column)

project has a seimens ECU
daily has a bosch ECU

is it OK to try the daily's ECU on the project to rule the ECU/ignition module out? will it work?

I think they're all compatible, at least i'm pretty sure that is what i was told a while back. Don't blame me if it all goes wrong though!

i dont fancy being without 2 cars thanks 

i need to know for definite really, i was told a while back that bosch make stuff for seimens (or vice versa) so they should work, but unless someone is 100% im not going to try it.
