PLEASE HELP! I've f**ked up my car!
« on: 08 May 2008, 23:34 »
So I got my sub and amp today. Decided to fit it in with my mate.

Got it in, and now I have an array of problems.

1. My lights when you open the door don't work.

2. My central locking doesn't work.

3. When I turn the engine off my clock resets and the clocks make a wierd sound as if they are starting up for the first time.

4. My front speakers seem to be recognised as the rear speakers not the front.

5. My sub doesn't seem to work properly.

6. I have a problem with the fact my sub isn't recognised by the head unit, so when I adjust the subwoofers level on the headunit it it does nothing, the bass changes along with the front too speakers when I adjust the overall bass on the head unit.

PLEASE HELP ME!

What fuse are you referring to? The audio side of things or the car's fuses?

If it's the cars fuses where are they found and how do I know which ones are which?

Sorry I'm just really bummed about this.

Did you wire your amp directly to the battery? also what head unit are you running?

It is connected to the battery, and just by the battery is a fuse and fuse holder that came with the amp kit I got.

The headunit I have is an Alpine 9880r.

got a power cap. i had this problem and it was the fuse at the front from the battery to the amp.

the fuse box should be above the foot well push the green bottons and pull and if im right should be the far right hand side fuse of the stereo.

also sound as if u had a bit of a surge might be the problem.

The Earth has been put screwed in to the metal under the seats. It was sanded down to bare metal as well so surely it couldn't be that?

did you have to butcher the wiring behind the stereo to get it in?
