fuse keeps blowing after fitting sub
« on: 05 May 2008, 21:47 »
as above i have just bridged my sub properly after months of hacing it incorrectly fitted doh! anyway now the standard in line 15 amp fuse keeps blowing by the battery when turned up reasonably loud, i have relatively thin power lines going to amp. I suppose i need to get thicker cable to eliminate this? thanks
i must buy a new car!

What power is the amp? 15 amp fuse at the battery doesn't seem anywhere near enough, and for an amp power wire you need a minimum 4awg cable. As a rule of thumb the fuse at the battery should be rated at 10 amp above the amp fuse,so if you have an amp fuse rated at 25 amp you need 35 amp at the battery.

Yep,buy a kit that's suitable for the power output of the amp,I've always found Autoleads kits to be very good for their cost.
