what you reckon? advice needed!
« on: 30 April 2008, 19:10 »
ok guys, I have a mk3 gti & I am totally unconfident about installing wiring, amps, subs, whatever and dont want to make a pigs ear of everything - so i got 2 questions;

I already have the HU - ripspeed dvd-730B (any reviews on that one?)

1 - for around £500 do you reckon I'll get everything i need bought and fitted for a decent system

or

2 - is it easier than I think and with no knowledge of this whatsoever do I dive in and see what happens  :huh:

3 - Can I get decent sound by simply replacing the dash, front and rear door stock speakers

any help really greatly appreciated from you pro's

£500 is a very good budget,my advise would be front Components,Rear sub and amps to run. To be honest the headunit you have is really low quality and wont last long. Look for good quality second user gear there are some excellent bargians out there. My whole set up in the GTi cost me £150 and that was for Amp,Sub,Front speaker and headunit and it's all high quality kit,would of been £800 new. Have a look at this site for excellent quality kit at very good prices, www.audioethos.co.uk . :smiley:
 PS,If you're in the Poole or Dorset Area I'll happily help you fit the kit and set it up.

Good Advise is something men give when too old to set a bad example
