Evening guys
Been looking at a new suspension set up for the car when I get paid

I've narrowed it down to
The Weitec Hicon GT's
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?product=3770744Which I've heard mainly good things about and read this thread-
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=50409.0Although there was complaints of bouncyness?
Which seemed to settle but has anyone else had experience with these?
The other option is Koni adjustable front dampers, non-adjustable rears and Eibach springs.
I know this is widely known as the best set up for handling on a mk2 which is the thing I want to improve most on the car, but I feel I may be disappointed by the drop it gives as it sits quite high now.
Will the Weitec set up be in any way comparable, handling-wise, to the Koni/Eibach set up?
I would lower it about 40mm tops, or basically until the arches sit slightly above the wheels.
Also how do Koni springs compare to the Eibach ones?
Are they far inferior?
Finally
What size spanner do I need to remove the nut at the top when I do remove my old struts?
Is it 22mm?
Cars a late 1990 8v!
Thanks

I have a budget of £400-500 max really, before I forget
