just use the trolly jack to get it up then stick axle stands to be safe...

I wouldn't ever work with a car on any sort of jack.... nearly had my fingers cut of before by a brake disc hitting the deck, not funny

yup drivers side mate, make sufre you look at the route the wiring for the old sensor goes before you pull it all out to put the new one in

thanks pete, i thought it was, now where do you place the jack?(never jacked up the back before) and where do you place the axle stand?.... also is it still best to use something against the front wheels to stop them moving or does having it in gear do this.

:embarassed: :embarassed: i feel real dumb asking such daft questions but if i don't ask, i don't learn

dont be mate - i have been working on my own cars for years and still managed to drop it off its widow maker jack last weekend - luckily landed on the old disc that was being replaced!!!

If you slide the trolly jack in you can use the actual jacking point but I prefer to go directly in towards the middle of the car in line with the jacking point and there is an obv flat bit to use to jack it up. I then put the axle stands where the rear beam connects with the chassis, lower the jack on to the stands then I lift the jack up to the point where it just starts to take some of the weight again as a second defense (i get paranoid about the weight of a mk3 on my face)

others may do it differently - possibly better

thanks mark3valver , can you just lift one side and use one axle stand? or is it better to lift both sides?

will if you are doing the rear would be best with the handbrake off so you can spin the disc so I would just jack up the wheel your doing and axle stand that, then put some jocks in front of the front wheels and put it in reverse....
