Extras make the car a LOT more desirable, I saw this when buying mine.
I wasn't particularly ready to buy a car yet but mine came up with Leather (rare on a valver as it is..) and air-con AND a sunroof (air-con and a tilt-slide rarely happens).. 1 prev owner, plus full vwsh.
I'd been 'overseeing the market' for a good few months.
I'd learned that adverts in autotrader which comes out on fridays, get listed on the website at midnight thursday. the following morning from when i spotted the car I redialled the number continuously until someone answered. They said they didnt have the car ready, and i've have to see it on monday. I got 2 things in that call, the first was "first refusal" the second was that I could view the car the day after (saturday).
When I got there the guy said he had a bunch of calls and one guy even threw a tantrum screaming "its not fair" at him (hang on.. never in the market for a valver were ya black?

)
fact is. factory options esp air-con and leather DO make a big difference to the desirability of a car.
I also noticed another trend.
Cars with lots of mods and alloys are
1) often overpriced (because the owner is trying to recoup?)
and
2) dont sell! perhaps because people dont want to buy a maxed n raced car..
the same cars were on autotrader for weeks...
apart from the minor cosmetic mods, if i do come to sell my car and have some nice wheels on it, i'm more likely to recoup the money by putting the originals back on and flogging the wheels on ebay.
why pay 6000 for a 120k valver sat on 17s with amps subs in the trunk to make it thump.. when i picked my car up for 4500
