2.0T FSI SHOOTOUT
« on: 28 March 2008, 18:56 »
Has anybody got the VW PERFORMACE MAG this month?

theres a shootout between the ED30 v AUDI S3 V LEON CUPRA

0.60 TIMES:
1ST. 6.06 Audi S3
2ND. 6.38 Seat Cupra
3RD. 6.64 ED30

LAP TIMES:
1ST. Audi S3 1.27.4
2ND Seat Cupra 1.27.5
3RD. ED30. 1.30.5

The SEAT CUPRA looks well hot with them black 18" and in white plus the sporty seats look kool
This car wasnt an option before i got the GTI. never drove it or looked into properly.
Saw one the other day and they do look nice, cheaper than the GTI aswell

On paper it weighs less and has 5bhp more than the ED30, same torque and bigger brake discs.

Question is now.. Would any of you have one over the GTI?

My mate has one and it is really nice car, interior doesn't feel as solid but still pretty good.

I've been looking myself and after much thought.....NO.  I love the value, i can get one brand new for £17k but, to me, it just doesn't have that "golf gti" appeal.  I think the killer is the interior, the golf is gorgeous inside, well build, nice materials and the seat feels very fisherprice. Also every review i've read (apart from the one posted) has said the golf handles better, rides far far better and has a better feel to it.  And for me, the thing i've loved about the golf is the complete ownership proposition.  On a budget, the seat is a great value "almost golf gti" but if you have the money, there is only one car to buy.

Seat interia Plastics are cheap and very very bland and boring, could i stare at one behind a wheel comparing it to a GTi's, you need to visit "the priory" for severe counciling!. looks nice on the outside the seat, but really did leave the design pencil behind on the inside.

TBH, haven't seen it. But I'm sick of hearing those 'superior' plastics rub together on the GTI.

Never Seat.
If I had the money I'd get S3.

true hurts though teebee , it might be a fast car your Seat, but so is a rally car!!, not everything is about how fast it goes round corners, that means sh%te in alot of peoples opinions, the inside of the GTi is one of the nicest in the hot hatch market.Thats where the golf will always win .Seats are budget buys, things arent cheaper if there isnt a reason. i had a leon FR and Altea FR and couldnt wait to get shot of it off the test drive.

yeah i would have the s3 aswell..

HAVE YOU SEEN THE SPORTS SEATS IN THEM!!!

they are super cool, wonder if they would fit in our GTIs??

Ive already got the S3 wheels, 7 spoke with polished center caps, ultra cool ultra rare.
will post pix when i put them on.

The GTI is definitive so no hot hatch would compare to it
