So I heard something about on the diesels a clutch replacement is very expensive.. What is the 1.8t like in terms of parts pricing and general maintenance/repair costs? I'm a part time student and I don't want to have to spend the money I do have coming in all on keeping the car on the road!


It's looking very favourably in the side of the 1.8t if thats the kind of milage I'd be getting About the same as my mk2 Driver!

umm dificult and deoends how much ya wanna pay on insurance at 19 i wouldnt get anything that cost me that much on insurance

i was only 19 when i got a 99 1.8t and paid 1200 as a named driver on my dads insurance. Now im 24 and drive a mk2 8v as i had to grow up and buy a house (no offence to anyone else, im just bitter and jealous cos i miss my 20v)

yeah you can easily pick up a 1.8T for £3K and the TDI 150's normally start around £6K

this is down to the TDI 150 being 2001 + so they are all going to be younger, and hold their value much better than the petrols.

Oh I see i thought you meant like for like, you know same age and mileage. :embarassed:
