It's kinda bummin me right out - I'm so fussy with cleaning my GTI and to have rusty bells is just sh*t!

To be honest I'm even paranoid about letting the dealer spray it

Anyone got a magic cloth that just wipes it all away

I tried spray painting mine with silver heat-resistant paint (only the rears though - my fronts seem pretty OK).
It was easier said than done I thought. Perhaps down to my total lack of DIY skills, but I found the paint "ran" easily, leaving some streaking... and it has already started to peel off and rust again!

Would I be better off using a small brush and some hammerite as others have suggested?

Phil do you know what they painted yours with? That's quite a good effect/colour

im not sure, it looks more whiter in the pics but looks just like grey primer in the flesh. they did the same to my 1st golf and even after a year there was no sign of any more corrosion coming through.Although this time they went abit OTT by doing the edges of the brake discs!.
