If you've let your tailpipes go to the dogs (grimy with heat soak tarnishing?) thjen a little the "Solvol Autosol' simply won't do the job. You're not the only one who has had a job cleaning built up crap off your tailpipes, it's another 'GTI' quirk.Try very fine sandpaper followed by wire wool (wire wool alone won't do it if it's bad) and then use a metal polisher (Solvol Autosol is fine at this stage). The tailpipes won't stay clean but a weekly 3-5 minutes with the aforementioned method will keep them looking immaculate.
