 and thought yours WAS out of an S3.   

So it confused the fcuk outta me with LCR as i didnt know that either.

seems the green eyed monster keeps popping its ugly head in this thread from time to time via certain forum members which is a real shame. Built this car for ME and how i want it to be.. if iv took what any of you have said wrong ill take it back but its just how it sometimes seems to me and im sure you can all understand this with some of the hassle iv had in the past.

For example, if somebody like Adam questions something so small its easy for me to take you worng, im not here to hate, id rather participate - i know im not the most popular on this forum but im not asking anyone to like me or the car but please just try and respect the huge effort iv put in on this, myself and Ben have worked very hard.. could have paid some garage to do it but id rather build than buy..

i could have bought a S3 with what this cost, or a LCR or many other cars but i wanted to see this one through and make what is my dream GTI Golf.

just hope some people enjoy reading the build thread like i do many others.



On a side notr - Dan 34 LOL, whats to convince are you saying the engine under my hood is not the same one as what you will find under the hood of a S3?  because really, it actually is the very same...
this really is pathetic sh!t and i cant actually believe we have to have this sort of discussion.

Paint should be completed this weekend, possibly just after.. cant wait to get it back its looking really good

Chuff - your a great example - too confusing saying LCR as many poeple think they are the 180 engine, the R ones in the mk1 were the AMK / BAM borrowed from the S3 but WITHOUT HALDEX meaning they are 2WD

To be fair Dan brad might have taken it the wrong way mate you never know, brads had loads of sh!t off haters due to jealousy or people just been arses, I personally know brad and got to know him well over the last 4/5 months and i know hes but his heart and sole into this and built his dream car to enjoy and for other people to enjoy and with his OCD   just like to keep it clean and looking mean

the car is a bit of a Mule really

Golf GTI shell

Porsche Rims

S3 / Cupra / TT 225 engine (chose which ever u like best)

16v Gearbox from mk3 gti

Pedal box from a late Mk3 (cheers roger) with a S3  DBW pedal custom fabricated (Ben big bore special)

But i love it...the only hint to its powerplant is the tiny sticker on the clocks and the Front Mount Intercooler for those that spot it
