Germany........Close!!

When in the dealers last week they gave me a few choices of GTI they had available
in local storage.
Happy with the choice and option of one of them so did the deal 

Thought I'd give them a little nudge today for an update on my soon to be delivered baby 

Turns out it is local......if you live if Germany that is 

Now I've got the pain of waiting days, possibly weeks, until I get the call saying it's in

In there defence.

Vw have changed the system and where as you used to get lots of differant info

 i.e   
       Nothing ( means its with a dealer)
       ASC      ( Area starage centre)
       A/Ship   ( Awaiting ship)
       On Ship ( Obvious)
       Factory ( Obvious)

This info used to be next to all the cars on the system   2.0 golf gti 3dr ----A/Ship----     (is as it would look)

Now we get this           2.0 golf gti 3dr  (nothing)  With dealer/ asc / on ship / or about to go on ship

                                2.0 golf gti 3dr  A/ SHIP ( Obvious)

                                2.0 golf gti 3dr  Factory ( Obvious)

So your dealer would look and see nothing thinking that it at there compound, its all very new and we are taking are time getting used to it, its not your dealers fault, honest.

It's not a major problem, really 
Half the fun of buying a new car is the excitement of waiting for it!

So, when they say it's "In Germany awaiting a ship to the UK", that could
mean anything and a possible long wait?

Awaiting ship means exactly that its at emden await to ship to the uk.

There are three ships to the uk a week

Customer tagged vehicles get priority

My 08 GTI was in emden awaiting ship..It arrived 2 weeks after the dealer clicked the button.

My ed30 has been awaiting ship since the 11th feb and i've been told I wont get it until the 29th March

Just got off the phone to the dealer:

Good news - Mine is 'on ship'

Bad news - it could well be on the way back to Germany as Grimsby port is closed and VW are sending the ships back to Germany while the weather sorts it self out!!
