Help...Spraying Wheels

I have come round to spraying the centre of my split rims and was wanting to know the best way to go about it.

Can i just spray the parts that i have fixed or do i need to spray all of the wheel?

Do i have to take off all the old paint?

Will the new primer and paint stick to the old lacquered surface or should i just rough it up a bit first?

if the paint is ok, just rub it down and spray the wheel, i would do the whole thing! just done my wheels today, well two of them 

oh and loads of laquer on top

*rub down the whole wheel

*prime the whole wheel

*rub it down

*prime again

*rub it down slightly

*spray colour

*rub it down

*spray colour

*rub it down a bit

*spray colour

*leave to dry for a few days in warm with no dirt or breeze

*laquer and dry

*lauer and dry

*laquer and dry.

Dont part spray them, or spray over the old laquer, unless you want patchy wheels with paint peeling off

I read somewhere it would come off fairly easy if you put it completely in nitromors for the 20 or so mins then poor boiling water on top to neutralize it and put a lid on as it helps with the paint removal. Then all you have to do is give it a scrape.
If i did this, would you rub the top down first to break trough the laquer that is already there?

Thats correct, it will take of the laquer, then you need to sand it down, not scrape!!! sand it down till you at the metal, and its smooth, then fill any kurbing etc. Then use METAL primer, abd build up the layers and rubbin down as i said.

Great i will do that then. No need to worry about kurbing on them, just a little corrosion on the paint, as its the middle of the split rims. Eill sort a picture out for you when i get home from work
