Don't understand private plates myself. Not saying anything about them but just don't know what they 'mean'. You don't have a personalised bank account or national insurance number or anything!

....If the private plate is a tribute to your car, it gives your car an individual identity rather than being anonymous gobblygook. Some plates are a 'tribute' to the owner's ego and I don't see anything wrong with that if the spacing etc is all legal. Altered plates are very tacky and/or chavvy imo.

I DO have personalised bank cards, as it happens.

Hi Boyz,

I’ve got V6 MTN currently on the 4–Motion and it’s being sold at a profit in a couple of weeks.

OK a few good arguments, but as there are so many out there now, thanks to the DVLA's marketing, the exclusivity isn't like it used to be.
Also telboy you might of had a value of £1250, but I'd like to see you sell it for that, as every year two versions of that plate, albeit with different numbers are issued, so unless someone likes 05, I cant see it holding its value, if you can find a buyer, sell it!!!!
Appreciate your comments although I paid £0 for it originally so anything like £500+  sounds cool to me, I have seen other version of vw xx dsg going for £750+ so who knows

Phil,

All those plates listed above are under £500

I like the DUB plates because they relate to the car. The bad thing is "Z" is not available on the old style plates

No, but there should be plenty of TAZ plates available as it is an Irish plate.  It would read something like TAZ **** where there *'s are numbers.  An old next door neighbour had TAZ 5512 or something similar.

I have a private plate on my car with my initials on.  I would never get a car-related plate though in case I ever buy something different.  Luckily my boyfriends surname starts with the same initial so if (!) we ever get mnarried I won't have to buy a new plate!
