It probably sounds farty because your headunit is running out of puff.

With £70 to play with, I'd invest in a good 2-channel amp, and use it to power the front speakers.  90% of what people hear as distortion is produced by the source, and not the speakers - speakers distorting make a completely different sound when they hit their mechanical limit.

Just drill the rivets out then use a nut n bolt to fix your new pod in place.

No need to remove metal panel as you fit pod into pannel then speaker into pod.

Go for components if you can afford, they sound sweet, and amp if possible. Don't rule out second hand if the budget is tight, I got a set of Kenwood componets unused and still in the box with a kenwood amp for £50. Need to check for sale sections of forums :wink:
