Been pretty damn busy recently and not really on the car, but I feel an update is needed on a Sunday eve! Not long moved into a new unit too, which has a ramp and built in air lines, etc, so much better for prepping the car.
Can't remember where I got up to last time....
-All the parts being painted cream are at the sprayers, so few engine bits, wheels, etc.
-Turbo is off and boxed up ready to be sent away for a rebuild.
-New gearbox is cleaned up and ready to fit.
-Crossmember fixed/adjusted as car isn't 100% straight, last owner had bodged it badly.
-Sills cleaned up down to the metal.
-All arches ready for filler (all rust cut out and welded).
-Mk4 cable shifter fitted.
-Exhaust cutout in rear bumper deleted.
Majority of the car is prepped, just few last bits, the door shuts and boot and a few adjustments with panel alignment. Oh and the engine bay, which I have been avoiding for some time; the idea of getting carried away in there scares me
AirLift struts came over Christmas (sweet) and most of my management is coming together. Basics of code is written, all circuit boards are done and I should be getting my handheld controller casing cut and welded next week, so I can wire that in. Last piece I'll need will be the box that houses the solenoids, pressure senders, etc; hopefully be getting that made next week too! Then it will be fit and testing time, that's where the hard work starts!
Anyway, not really got too many pictures of what has been happening, as I just can't be bothered really haha. However here is a few I did get:
Couple older pics, can see the sills aren't finished up and a few other bits
Exhaust cutout delete
Gearbox cleanup and new starter (finally!!!)
AirLift Struts
Mk4 Shifter
Annoying bumper fitment
Pretty much how it stands now
