I am new to being registered on the forum but have kept an eye on it for a while, the time has come for me to part ways with my baby as I have moved on to a mk3 vr6.
I need some help on how much you all think my car is worth though.
I have alot of history with it, mots, receipts etc etc.
I have done all the servicing to it myself whilst I have had it, I am not the usual at home with a halfords socket set diy mechanic, I rebuild VR6 engines, recon and repair vws and audis as a paid hobby so I'm not clueless.
I have had one or two problems with the car whilst I have owned it for the last 7 or 8 years but have all been fixed with original parts and when needed, the car has been taken to a VW dealership to get looked over.
It is a 5 door Tornado red 8v GTi, in my opinion it is in very good condition inside and outside and I have always taken care of it as I love my VW's...
It is on a D reg but the whole car is 1990 spec, dont ask as Im not sure myself, even the dealership was stumped by it but could find nothing whatsoever out of place as I asked them to look over it thoroughly to make sure I hadnt bought a duffer. It has aircon as well, original VW fitment, although the conpressor has been removed as it was leaking badly so it would need another one bought from GSF, VW or dare I say it, Ebay (I wouldnt myself but...)
It has covered 128,000 miles, just under and everything works well and as it should, powersteering, vacuum operated heating, as you get with the aircon models, it has Spax suspension all round and 16v Wheels.
There are no tears or rips in the seats at all, like I said very good condition inside, carpet is in excellent condition, roof lining too.
Exterior has got a scratch on the nearside rear plastic wheel arch trim, a very very easy fix (which I may do myself before selling) and a little nick in the front bumper (offside) but only about the size of a 10p.
It has 6 months MOT and will have atleast 6 months TAX on it too.
I am thinking somewhere in the region of £1300.
What does everyone think?
