well either way I dont see the issue if its only the lead thread, not like that bit is going to be load bearing is it...

The rest is fine! im glad to say!  I have mushroomed it a bit which is why it wont go on.  I will have to reshape it by the looks of it     I will price up a new CV joint,  if its not to much i will just put that on lol
