Hi guys where is the ISV?
whats it look like?

how do you all recommend cleaning it?

Take off the ignition leads from the black plastic tray then remove the 3 allen head bolts, you'll see the ISV under there, leave it soaking in petrol to clean it

Would a good zap with carb cleaner do the trick?

ISV=Idle Stabilization Valve, helps memter enough air for the engine to idle. If broken or dirty can cause a bad/unstable idle or cause your car to stall.

I cleaned mine out on my 16v with Wynns carb cleaner, just kept sprayin it in there till what came out was clear and not oily/mucky.

Acetone, white spirit, carb cleaner, petrol - any decent solvent will so, just make sure it doesn't react with the gaskets involved. The important thing is that the sliding valve is free to move at all times. Spray with light oil after cleaning.
