I remember reading (athough i cant find the thread) that its a pricey job, as im sure there was a thread where some1 was going to buy a mk3 that needed it doing, cant remember the price, but i think it wasnt to cheap...... :/

I hear it needs doing over 60k.

Is this the same as the cam belt? But just a chain on the vr6 apozed to my 8v?

My mate got his done and was qouted 700 everywhere, managed to get it for 500 in the end, still a dear do!

Once you master it you can do everyone elses for 250 notes

seems heavy going to me. I would rather pay the 500 notes incase you f**kit up.

they can last up to 180k but depends on the engine, vw said they would never need changing unless they get noisy
