Like I said, it isnt going to work. G60 cable is totally different!  Those 2 gears are NOT for the G60 cable, they're for the std MK2 cable.

sorry mate being a bit dense, i thought the G60 cable was to short as its LHD but i could use the gear at the end to attach to the original speedo.

Kev from 16vtrackcar.co.uk, said that his 1.3 is a tight fit & if using mk3 its unlikely to be long enough

could i attach mk2 1.3 gear to my standard 16v cable, or are you saying that the cable construction is completely different & i would be able to put any gear on my original cable that will fit in the box?

cheers

the issue is the fitment to the gearbox is different, so its gotta be an 02a or 085 gearbox cable, looks like the best solution would be a SEAT cable :)

ok there are some I've found:
358 957 803 A - rhd, 16v, 1020mm - 34.41+VAT
358 957 803 G - rhd - 1450mm - 24.27+VAT

The pic looks a bit odd though, can't say for sure if the fitment is the same!

Right spoke to a guy at seat,

he gave me two part numbers for 1.6 mk1 toledo

1LO 957 803K 1230MM
1LO 957 803L 1260MM

strangely the shorter one is more expensive than the longer one, that leads me to believe that it will the shorter one thats more appropriate fitting, anyone able to have a look if the ends look right?

the shorter one is for an abf so that will definitly fit your gearbox, longer one is for a 1z code lump not sure what that is, but it should still fit as the LHD ABF speedo cable is same part number as the 1Z :)

Just a case of will it fit your speedo?

thats weird that the longer cable is also on the left hand drive car, i thought the shorter cable would be on the left drive, due to the shorter distance between pedal and gearbox............

i may have to take a punt on the shorter cable and see if it works

those are RHD cables, shorter one is ABF, longer is 1Z.  What i meant was the lhd part number is the same for both engine codes, so the gearbox connection must be the same :)
