MK3 golf gti 2.0 8v air filter

Hi all

Been thinking about upgrading the golf a little bit, 1st thing was induction kit, found this on ebay

but this would involve removing the air flow meter, surely this is not a good thing?

Also been thinking about the exhuast, was thinking about a cat back system including a de-cat pipe? Worth doing?

hello,

no, removing the air flow meter is not a good thing. the engine wont run without it being connected and without air actually flowing thru it. the air filter should have an adaptor which will allow u to connect it directly to your AFM. wot make AMF do you or what year gti is it?

buy a panel filter and drill the airbox..cheaper and gives same power unless you can get a really good cold air feed to the indy kit

Thats an awful. they will lower performance if its no branded, and wont even sound good, get a KN cone or a filter and drill the box.

That is a direct fit filter, was planning to drill the box and fit that air filter or a pipercross one, just that the pipercross one is £30 and that is £7    You usually get what you pay for, but just wondered if anyone has had any experience with DNX products, some positive comments in there feedback but when cars are involved i would rather fit something branded.

K&N or pipercross.

yep, just go for a panel filter. i ended up taking the cone filter off my mk3, i tried pipercross and k&n, loud noise but only drew warm air into the engine.
