I can recommend Halfords Satin Black. Keyed up the surface with some wet a dry. Happy with the finish so gonna try it on the car tomorrow, daylight permitting.

....It's a subtle change but does make the front look a bit 'meaner' and is a much better alternative to debadging as some of those crazy Americans do.
