Nice vid but having been in the passenger seat on that circuit it looks so slow to how it feels in the car.

The head looks ace as well.

its time to proper strip the golf  :evil:

unfortunately finding a big hole of rustyness has put a downer on things, but it looks salvageable and non structural so not so bad.

heres how it looked after today

ooooops, well at least its straight forward to put a plate on there. how close is it to the fuel neck, do you recon you ll have to take the tank out?

yeah ill take the tank out. i think i might have to cut out and remake the bracket that holds the fuel neck but ill decide when the tank is off

today i finished cutting all the studs and brackets off the floor - every little helps!

also decided to cut out the sunroof in preperation for an alloy sheet  :cool:






i suppose i better stop doing the fun stuff and get on with the rust  :sick:

heres how its looking at the mo



im on a rust and seam sealent removal mission at the moment!

the sunroofs been plated and the glue on the floor pan is nearly all gone. once the rust is all sorted im gonna start prepping bits for stitch welding

heres the pile of metal removed from inside the shell   :evil:

That's a lot of metal. What are the bits that aren't from the sunroof from?

frame for rear bench, the two brackets on each turret, rear seatbelt plates behind the skin erm thats all i can remember off the top of my head. it all came to about 14kg  :smiley:
