Temperture guage not working
« on: 09 February 2008, 18:37 »
Picked up my V5 today

Half way driving home (about 50 miles) i noticed my temp guage had not moved
Normally they sit smack on 90 in the middle.

How can i fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info,

How different is a V5 against the 1.8T?

Using the car today and the temp gauge was working and a bit later it was'nt & then was OK again.

When it was working it sat dead on 90 as norm,

But i guess im better of replacing the temp sensor anyway  :undecided:

I would check the wiring first TBH. Could be corroded terminals  :undecided: The temp sender is £25 and 60p for the clip and rubber seal.

If you have the black sensor then buy the newer green one anyway!

very common problem.
