2.1 16v turbo conversion

hi im new to this forum and i was after some info on a engine i have. Ok basicly its a 2.1 16v turbo with a crossflow head and i am wanting to put it in my golf mk2 gti. Its a 1990 digifant injection and just wanted to know if i have to change wiring loom and what other things thanks stefan

Full engine loom, ECU, Drive shafts mabey? Dash clocks, Gear links (some are cable) and hydralic clutch setup if applicable. Im not sure on the specifics of your car and engine

hi thanks for the reply, i was thinking bout keeping the same gearbox as i have now.? sorry if this is a stuipd question but why do i need the dash clocks? At the moment my engine is a PB engine 1.8 8v digifant. thanks

Sorry, if the engine is out of a MK3 and or going into a Mk3 you dont need the clocks, If you are fitting a Mk3 engine to a Mk2 you would need them idealy.
I dont understand what enging you have? Is it a Mk3 GTI engine? If thats the case you just need the loom and ECU. Some of the gearboxes were diffrent so needed diffrent length drive shafts.

sorry i didnt explain very well, its a mk2 16v engine goin into a mk2 basicly 8v to 16v thanks

Yea there would be a diffrence in looms, You might get away with just the engine loom which runs arround the bay, or you might need to put a whole new loom in behind the dash, it depends on the ECU etc..

im sure you can buy like a "plug and play" style loom off ebay for this conversion..duno bout when you start messing with turbos tho sorry

Ive know decieded against that engine and im going to turbo the engine i already have in 1.8 8v i have found this kit for a corrado g60 i have emailed them asking if it would fit my golf mk2 1.8 8v and they said yes just the intercooler pipes will need modifying? is this kit ok and should i change pistons?
