Mk2 rear stock speakers, what size can I get in there?
« on: 03 February 2008, 16:45 »
I have 6x9 at the mo but are too obvious and someone is going to nick them plus they are sh!t ones.

Would like to have them hidden away in the stock positions so was wondering if 5*7 will fit in there.

If so any body got any recomendations?  The 4*6 I have found all lokk a little weak and I don't have a sub or really want one as I need the space for the pram.

why dont you just buy some matirial and "stelth" out your shelf if you want to have 6x9`s.

With 6x4's it's best to go for ones with the highest wattage/lowest frequency response, but like you say, because of the small size, they won't have much bass! I've got some 7x5's on order and will make them fit by using an mdf spacer bracket. They will fit in the width of the shelf support, it's just making them fit securely.

As long as I can get 7 * 5's I will go for that if they fit then thats the way forward for me.  Bye bye six by nines.  Need a new parcel shelf now.
