Whats the difference between the tail pipe section of the GTI rear bumper and the ED30 one?
Is it just the clip on bit that goes round the exhaust cut out?

If you look at MerlinMans post above and click on the ebay link, it looks like the GTI bumper is also one piece.

I think the R32 'spoiler' bit looks the biz... and would be great with the CF tail pipe bit - but from what Hurdy says I may need a GTI tail pipe section to stick the CF one ontop of?

My next question would be about the small circle in the Ed30 tail pipe bit - which must come out to reveal the tow hook?  If I put a CF part on what would happen there if I ever needed access?

I want to get my head clear as to what I can actually get and what I want before I phone the bodyshop.  I'm paying out a £425 excess - so I might at least get something different out of it rather than paying for 10 seconds stupidity!!
I'd happily pay £100 extra if it l could get that instead!

....Yes, you would lose the access to the rear tow hook if you fitted the CF tail pipe trim. I've discussed this exact question with the guy who is boss of a very busy accident repair centre affiliated to my VW dealer (who has done various bodywork mods on my car and who I very much trust). He advised that it was rare that it would be needed in accident recovery and there were other methods anyway, and so I shouldn't be worried at all about hiding it. He has nothing to gain by telling me this.

Re the standard GTI spoiler and tail pipe trim: - I think they are one piece but I didn't used to think so until this thread. I should know but I've never seen mine since it was removed! According to Hurdy the tail pipe trim on the Ed30 is only a few inches around the pipes themselves - His captioned pic explains it well (page 2 in this thread).

Re fitting any CF bits: - If you haven't done so already I would have a chat with either Justin or Dave at the TTshop 01234 853 225, unless Hurdy can report any further info.

I have now ordered the R32 spoiler and OSIR CF tail pipe trim as I know this all fits together without any problems and I think it will look the best on my car anyway.

I hope this helps.

If the GTI spoiler is all one part - then how did they fit your current CF piece?  Have they cut the bottom off your bumper, or does it simply stick on top?
If the R32 spoiler fits with the CF quad exhaust piece, then surely it would fit with the dual exhaust?

Its just in the OSIR web page it says something about ahesive sealant - which makes it sound like its stuck on to the existing tail pipe trim.

....I don't have a "current CF piece" on the rear of my GTI - Only up the front end currently.

You'll have to ask the TTshop about whether a CF dual piece will fit with the R32 spoiler but looking at the pic I posted earlier I reckon yes. Here is the pic again:

As I think I posted earlier, most of OSIR's CF parts are located with screws and anchored with adhesive, much like some VW parts.

The OSIR carbon fibre part doesn't fit the ED30

I don't know how Redrobin is going on with his though. :undecided:

Only other option would be to get a standard GTI bumper and then you can have the OSIR DTM carbon fibre part

....The OSIR carbonfibre quad exhaust trim will fit the Mk5 R32 'spoiler' and I'm collecting mine either next week or the week after.
