g60 steelies...tyre size?

ok..currently have 185 60 14's on my mk2 16v...If i was to go for steelies then would I need 195 50 15's or 195 45 15's to keep the rolling radius the same?

also..is it worth getting one as a spare or just keep the original spare?

after you mentioned about spare I just realised, with my 280mm brake upgrade on the front, my tiny gti spacesaver will never fit!

can i ask did you do the 280mm conv. yourself? cos i had major issues tryin to bleed the master cylinder so i went back to standard and now got g60s just sat im my garage rusting

Did you fit the 22mm master cylinder?  I didn't have any problems bleeding my 280s up at all.

What bleeding method did you use?  It can sometimes take a long time to bleed up GTI brakes, what ever method is used.

Sorry my mechanic chucked mine on as I don't have anywhere to do it and it's my daily.

thats a good link...195 50 15's give a minimal difference so thats what im gona go for

yeh had a 22m on there.. bleed them bout 6 times with a pressure bleeder and still pedal straight to the floor went through 7 litres of brake fluid, on trade prices so not so bad but a funkin nightmare!

i'm on 195 50 15's on the g60 steelies and i use a 185 60 14 spare
